The Beauty of Our Area

The Ozarks is home to some of the most beautiful areas on earth, and Searcy County is certainly no exception.   From the Buffalo National River that runs through the northern third of the county, to the rugged Richland Creek area in the Southwestern corner, Searcy County is home to some really spectacular scenery.   These pictures are located in an area that is called “Dry Creek Falls” which is located in the Western part of the county.  This area has been photographed extensively over the years, and it continues to be very popular with hikers and nature photographers.    Paul Caldwell graciously allowed us the use of  his pictures to show off the beauty of this area.  Visit Paul’s site for more wonderful photos of Arkansas.

Welcome to our New Website

We want to welcome everyone to the new website of the Greater Searcy County Chamber of Commerce.

We are all very excited about this new site and the exciting changes it will bring.

This site is much easier to update than the old site, so you will see updates every couple of days, rather than about once per month as before.   We can easily add exciting content, stories, blog articles, pictures, videos and much, much more.

Even though this is a site to help increase the awareness and the business of all our members, we are going to have a section on the history of Searcy County, and this is something that we would like lots of people to be a part of.  If you have old pictures, stories, old interesting articles or tales, we would like to hear them so we can make them a part of permanent Searcy County history for everyone to see.   We are going to be working with the Searcy County Library with this, so there will be more to come.

The site is searchable!!  You can search, right off the main page.

You can leave your own comments on the site…..there are places for comments everywhere, so let us know what you think and give us lots of ideas and suggestions.

This type of site is also much more visible, more “search engine friendly” so the awareness our our presence on the internet will be much greater.

There’s much more to come, but I can’t give away all the secrets now, just stay tuned…..

Relocate to Searcy County

Enjoying the Good Life in the Arkansas Ozarks

Searcy County, Arkansas, has some of the most beautiful country on earth.  The Ozark Mountains reign majestically here and the Buffalo National River winds its way through the northwest corner of the county, drawing canoeists to floats that leave lifelong memories.  Our town names are as colorful as our hardwood forests in autumn.  Searcy County offers the relaxed pace and charm of small-town, rural living.  However,  we are in close proximity to trade, cultural and recreation areas.  The good life is here in the Arkansas Ozarks.  The area is quiet, the property values and Property Taxes are very reasonable.

Searcy County Recreation

Searcy County offers a wide range of  Get-Away destinations, from family fun at Arkansas’ only year round Drive-in Movie to high adventure kayaking on class IV whitewater on Falling Water and Richland Creek .

Our mountains and the Buffalo National River provide a perfect setting for a week or weekend of fun. We offer a variety of canoeing, horseback riding, ATV Riding, camping and hiking opportunities for the beginner and the adventurer.  Our outfitters and campground operators can supply you with everything you need for the perfect vacation.   We have many rental cabin opportunities also.  If you’re looking for a place to rest and relax, you’ve found it.

For a great guide to the Buffalo National River, click here.  Note:  This is a large PDF file and may take a few minutes to load for slower connections.

In addition to all the great Searcy County activities, our location makes it a perfect place to see all the region’s attractions. Enjoy music at  Mountain View’s Folk Center, world class golfing in the Fairfield Bay area, trout fishing on the White River, and a variety of activities only an hour and fifteen minutes  away in Branson, Missouri.
