Looking to explore the beauty of Buffalo National River on horseback? The park offers over 75 miles of designated equestrian trails across 95,000 acres of scenic wilderness. Whether you prefer a developed campground or a wilderness experience, there are options for every kind of rider.
Looking for some tips to ensure that you are prepared for your horseback riding experience?
Be sure to ride only on approved trails that are marked with a yellow blaze – Riders are prohibited from off-trail or cross-country riding.
Due to the extensive network of trails, horseback riders are advised to pick up a topographic map at a park visitor center, concessionaire, local store, or Arkansas Game & Fish office. The big trail ride of the year In Searcy County is the annual Falling Water Trail Ride during the first weekend of October. Riders begin the trail from either the Wollum Campground or the Snowball Gym.
