Dr. Brooks Blevins is the speaker Friday, 27 February in Marshall for the Searcy County Historical Society at 7:00 pm in Marshall’s First Christian Church! Blevins is a Noel Boyd Professor of Ozark Studies, at Southern Missouri State University, and author of many books about the Ozarks. His topic will be “The Great Searcy County Theme Park that Never Was: Al Gannaway’s Ozarkland.” This is the topic of Brooks’ upcoming book on Gannaway and his wild career. All are invited. Coffee and nibbles will be available. The Gannaway Ozarkland went bankrupt in 1969, so some may recall that enterprise.
